How We Evaluate Providers
1. Provider Eligibility
We only review providers listed on Apple's Worldwide eSIM service providers page. This ensures every provider we recommend meets a baseline of legitimacy and device compatibility. We don't accept pay-for-placement.
2. Plan Filtering
For each country or region, we filter plans to a minimum of 10 GB data and 30-day validity. Short-burst tourist SIMs and tiny data packs fall below the threshold we consider useful for real travel.
3. Use-Case Matching
We don't rank providers on a single score. Instead, we match them to traveler profiles: budget-conscious backpackers, remote workers needing reliable tethering, short-trip visitors who want simplicity. Our top picks always explain who each plan is best for.
4. Pricing Verification
We check pricing directly on each provider's website and storefront before publishing. Prices are noted in USD and verified at the time of writing — we update guides regularly to catch changes.
5. Network Research
For each country, we research which local carriers each provider roams on, coverage quality in key destinations, and real-world speed reports from traveler communities on Reddit, forums, and social media.
Editorial Policy
Independence first. Our recommendations are based on research and real-world traveler feedback. Affiliate partnerships never influence our rankings or which providers we feature. We earn commissions on some outbound links, but the editorial picks are made before any commercial consideration.
Transparency always. Every guide includes an affiliate disclosure. When we link to a provider, you'll know it. We disclose our relationship with each provider and mark affiliate links appropriately.
Regular updates. eSIM pricing and plans change frequently. We revisit our guides to ensure accuracy and update pricing, plan availability, and carrier information as the market evolves.
